I could tell you how Amazon decided I wanted to purchase some kind of American flag and Robert Heinlein's Stranger In A Strange Land but I think that would spoil the fun.

Something tells me that Robert Heinlein would approve. Probably in a really emphatic and scary way. BTW, the only thing that kept me from reading Stranger earlier than I did is that paperback edition's self-worshipping cover--did they really have to stamp "THE MOST FAMOUS SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL EVER WRITTEN" right on the cover?
BTW, just read your Slate piece and really enjoyed it.
